11.28.11

Well, Thanksgiving weekend has ended and today is known as "Cyber Monday" and, yes, I did do some online shopping today.  Sometimes it's the best and easiest way to find a variety of what you're looking for and it's so much easier to compare prices.  I was able to get the same thing on Amazon that the company offered and it was probably about 30% cheaper at Amazon.

Don has eaten really well all weekend; mostly leftovers from Thanksgiving, but he ate well nonetheless.
Sunday I fixed stuffed butterfly pork chops using the leftover stuffing.  With that I served the leftover mashed potatoes and the sweet potato/pineapple dish.  It was a great dinner.

I've decided I'm going to get a Rx from the doctor for a 'transport' wheelchair.  It gets to be a hassle trying to organize a wheelchair when we go to the doctors office or last week when we visited the VFW headquarters.  Also, I think I can talk Don into attending church if he knows he doesn't have to walk the distance.  Church, with travel time, is only about 1 1/4 hrs. and it would be really good for Don to attend once in a while.  Of course, that's my opinion and he may not agree.

Mark and Marcey brought the Christmas tree up from the basement storage and set it up for us.  I've just barely started decorating it but will continue to add ornaments during the week.

It's hard to get enthused about Christmas.  I won't be able to attend activities with Don and that definitely sucks much of the light out of any occasion.  Bless his heart, he is trying so hard to be of some help to me, even in tiny little ways.  His next assignment is the Christmas cards; I've asked him to take care of that and he said he would.

Father, as my refuge, I know you will be my shield and will keep me safe.  Your love for me never wanes and my love for you matures with each passing day.  Please lay your blessings on my family that they may prosper and be healthy.  Amen.
