The Jewish Struggle Continues

To go into the historical struggles of the Jewish people would not serve much purpose since most of us have, at the least, heard the basics.  Most Christians will know of the biblical slavery and servitude and hatred.  And, again, most people today will know of the Holocaust of WWII.  The centuries of mistreatment and murder between the biblical accounts and WWII accounts are probably mostly unknown to most non-Jews.

A recent documentary on PBS explains, in chronological order, the abuses showered on the Jews through the centuries.  For some reason, that I can not fathom, the world has chosen the Jew as the ever present 'dog to beat'.  Christians have turned on God's People even knowing that the Bible tells them of their special covenant with the Creator.  Amazing!  Still, today, there are those that speak of the Jew with contempt, and most of these people are among an ever increasing number of God-hating, anti-Christian, anti-American, Marxist-leaning lost souls.  Why?  Is there an element of mankind that will always need a 'dog to beat'?  Is a scape-goat necessary for some people to feel better about themselves?  Isn't this an extension of the present-day bullying that is rampant in schools.

God told the Jews, "...out of all nations you will be my treasured possessions...you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation."  I have to wonder why people with a twisted thought process, i.e. Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Penn, etc. can use their fame and fortune to denigrate a people that has done nothing wrong and yet, for several thousand years, have suffered at their hands.  Why?

The world agreed in 1948 that a tiny space called Israel would be a Nation-State. I will not give a history lesson about what transpired after that, but it is imperative that we remember that the forces that have hated the Jews for centuries are still at work to destroy them. The Jews of the world are the spiritual brothers of all Christians; we follow the same covenant. We must pray for their safety for if they fall so shall we...
